Receive boldness from the Lord

Recently, the Lord reminded me of a spontaneous song that He gave me during a prayer meeting. It goes like this:

"We receive the boldness, boldness
To do Your will, in Your way
We receive the boldness, boldness
To lift a standard, in Your Church
We receive the boldness, boldness
Prepare the way, make straight the path

For Jesus, for Jesus, for Jesus
For Jesus in our land"

Not long after, the Lord gave me the understanding that in this end time, those who ignore His ways and follow the ways of the world will suffer. The world that is structured by the Babylonian system is a fallen one (i.e. has a fallen nature), and it will eventually fail and come crumbling down. The Bible mentions clearly about the fall of the Babylonian system. You may read about it in Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 17-18.

What is the Babylonian system?
The Babylonian system (a.k.a. the worldly system) is where people try to meet their own desires and live their lives without God. The word ‘Babylon’ here is from the word ‘Bâbel’ in Hebrew. It means ‘confusion’. When human beings try to live without God and make decisions without God, life can become rather confusing as a consequence. Not only that, they would also lose the direction and meaning of life.

On the other hand, those who know the way of the Lord will do great exploits! If you have heard Him speaking to you about your future or direction in life, do not fear! Just listen and obey what the Lord has spoken to you. Receive the boldness from Him and be ready to tread on uncharted waters! He will give you the grace, wisdom and favor to proceed in unprecedented ways.
It is written in Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV), “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

The word ‘bold’ here is ‘bâṭach’ in Hebrew. It means ‘to hie for refuge’  (‘To hie’ is ‘to go quickly/hasten’. Also, see Psalm 62:7-8 that says God is your refuge).  The word ‘bâṭach’ also means ‘to trust, put confidence, feel secure, and be sure’. You see, true boldness does not drive you to act with impulsiveness, or to prove yourself brave by taking unnecessary risks, or to do heroic acts to fulfil the ego. But, you will receive true boldness only after you have gone quickly to God to receive His counsel and wisdom.

Who is the ‘righteous’ then? The righteous are the people who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (see Romans 10:4). In Christ, God sees you as righteous. And why are the righteous bold?  You who are the righteous will be bold when you have learned to put your confidence on God and receive empowering from Him. Through His empowering, you will receive the faith and courage to advance and to conquer any challenge you face.

Receive boldness through the meditation of God’s Word
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.  (Acts 4:13 NKJV)

These two disciples of Jesus (Peter and John) were fishermen. They were perceived to be uneducated, but yet they could preach with great power and with great insight of the Scripture. The people were marveled, and concluded that it was because both of them had been with Jesus! You see, Jesus is the Word of God in person (see John1:14). Therefore, to meditate upon the Word of God is to be with Jesus!

So, start meditating upon the spoken Word of God! In due time, the meditated Word of God will be transformed into your personal conviction, faith and boldness to move you to act in His will.

Receive boldness by praying in the spirit often
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.  (Acts 4:31 NKJV)

To pray in the spirit is to pray in tongue. Why? It is because when you pray in tongue, your spirit prays (see 1 Corinthians 14:14-15).

In the book of Acts 1-4, Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When they did, the Holy Spirit came, filled them and enabled them to speak in tongues. From then on, the disciples were full of courage to preach the gospel with signs and wonders. As a result, a vital Church was born and many became believers.

Therefore, be filled with the Holy Spirit and pray in tongues often. The Holy Spirit will teach you to speak and act upon the Word of God with wisdom and boldness, both in your career and ministry.

The Lord said to Joshua in the book of Joshua 1:9 (NKJV), “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” If the Lord has spoken to you to go to a place or to do certain thing, He will be with you just as He was with Joshua. If He has said it, He will back it up with His favor and power.

For those who believe, you will see that every step you take according to His guidance will bring you to understand more of God's will in your life. And every path you explore according to His leading will make way for more of His blessings to come your way. So, go quickly to Him who is your Refuge, and receive the boldness to do great exploits. Amen!
